Updating Porfolio

So, many months later I find myself in an optimistic position. The aquisition of a Cintiq has given me the drive to start creating some new drawings for my portfolio. I also know that it is not the tool that makes the artist but how the artist uses it and for this reason I’m also working on my technique.

Here is the latest piece I am working on. Its a work in progress of Assassin’s Creed, Ezio Auditore. At the moment I am only working on it at weekends as it feels better to work on it in spurts lasting several hours. The current style its in right now it probably won’t remain as.

Drawing is a muscle and like everything else it needs exercise

I realised that if I don’t start drawing again and regularly, I’ll end up losing the ability to draw which would be very sad considering how long I spent honing that skill. So I’ve taken up drawing again, traditional and digital. Its hard to fit the time in as I find myself with a lot to do and not enough time to do them.

I’m also in the process of changing my blog theme as the old theme is out of date now. I would like to create my own, but there is no time for it!

Below is one of my latest sketches. Its been more of a relearning sketch and remembering different processes as well as working on the same layer.

On its way

For the past several weeks me and Jose have been designing our new web site. Today we made a breakthrough with the landing page after many hours of working. Hopefully we’ll have it up and running in the next few days.

Once the main website is finished I’ll be working on some new illustrations. I ordered my new wacom last Friday and hopefully I’ll receive it end of next week. Trying to use my volito at work made me realise how badly I need a new portable wacom!

I’m also planning on doing some photo sessions. Probably around November time once the website is done and everything else sorted out.

I bought a new book which I hope will help me make the most of my efforts in trying to make a living for myself. Will tell more about it when I receive it. For now it’s late and theres a lot to do tomorrow!

Finally accepted!!!

As I’m a busy person now these days I finally got an app so I can blog from my phone. Yey!

Today I got accepted as an Istock member which has made me happy especially seeing as I tried 2 years ago and found it incredibly difficult. It’s set me in a good mood and means that it’s accepted by professionals that I am a professional photographer (though not making any Money from it yet!) Any how figured I’d share that awesome news. Will update more again tomorrow
